Runes on Coen's arm representing the Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampiric progression paths

Choosing Between the Three Skill Paths

You do not have to lock into one path. All three trees share experience and skill points. Buy what solves the next obstacle, then build around manuals, corruption, and the time required to learn.

01 / Before you begin

Check these assumptions first

  • 01Understand that skill points can be spent in any tree.
  • 02Some abilities also require a manual, time, or corruption.

02 / Decision steps

Work through the choice in this order

  1. 01

    Build a stable melee foundation

Swordmastery works by day and night. Directional attacks, blocks, and counters form the most reliable base; automatic direction input can reduce mechanical pressure.

  2. 02

Use Witchcraft to expand daytime options

Witchcraft can deal damage, control space, apply buffs and debuffs, and question the dead through Compel Soul. Search ruins, haunted places, and spellcasters for manuals.

  3. 03

Use Vampiric powers to change night routes

Shadowstep, Clawride, and Planeshift open rooftops and vertical spaces. Stronger powers depend on corruption, while whom and how far you drain remains a choice.

  4. 04

Let knowledge sources shape the next point

Once you find a key manual, investing the required skill points and time is usually more useful than hoarding points for a path whose other requirements you cannot meet.

03 / Common pitfalls

Do not let a false assumption choose for you

Assuming skill points earned by day cannot buy night abilities.

Raising levels without finding sword or magic manuals.

Ignoring the relationship between Vampiric growth and corruption.

Treating a public overview as a complete launch-build value table.
